国際応用言語学会

国際応用言語学会（フランス語: Association Internationale de Linguistique Appliquée、AILA）は、1964年に各国の応用言語学関連団体の連合体として設立された、応用言語学界では世界最大の学術団体。世界中の35以上の異なる応用言語学協会に8,000人以上の会員を擁している^[1]。 AILAは、東アジア、ヨーロッパ、アラビア、ラテンアメリカなどの既存および新興の地域ネットワークと協力して成長を続けている^[2]。最も注目を集めている活動は、3年に一度開催される世界応用言語学会議である。また、ニュースレター「AILA News」と学術誌「AILA Review」の2つの出版物を発行している。

歴史

AILAは1964年にフランスのナンシー大学で開催された国際コロキウムから^[3]、2年間の準備期間を経て、フランスの言語学者アントワーヌ・キュリオリとギー・カペルが中心となって^[1]設立した。この準備の一環として、協会は1963年に公式ジャーナル『International Review of Applied Linguistics』（IRAL）を創刊した^[4]。IRALはその後De Gruyter社に移行され、『International Review of Applied Linguistics in Language Teaching』として、現在も応用言語学と言語教育の伝統的なジャーナルとして出版が続いている。

1969年までに、協会は国内協会、応用言語学センター、応用言語学ワーキンググループなどの形で、合計18カ国に加盟組織を持つようになった。この年には、英国応用言語学会（BAAL）が主催する第2回の会合が開催された。^[4]

目的

AILAの主な目的は、応用言語学分野における国際協力の促進、研究と教育の促進、新しい応用言語学の理論の普及であるとする。^[3]

出版物

AILAには、AILAニュースとAILAレビューの2つの出版物がある^[6]。AILA Newsは年に3回発行されるニュースレターで、AILA Reviewは年に1回発行されるジャーナルでゲスト編集者が編集する。AILA Reviewの各号には、特定のトピックに関する論文集、または世界大会の論文集が掲載される^[3]。これら2つの出版物に加え、AILAは英国応用言語学協会、米国応用言語学協会、オックスフォード大学出版と協力して、雑誌『応用言語学』を発行している^[6]。

ガバナンス

協会の決定は、執行理事会と国際委員会によって行われる。執行委員会は国際委員会に勧告を行い、その勧告を受けた応用言語学の全加盟国の協会が投票を行うことができる。この投票は年に一度、世界各地で行われる。^[6]

執行委員会には11のポストがあり、そのうち7つ（会長、前会長、会計、事務局長、研究ネットワークコーディネーター、出版コーディネーター）は固定的な役割を担う。残りの4つのポストは固定的な役割を持たず、その保有者は一般会員である。理事会のメンバーは、自分の費用を負担している^[9]。
