Leonardo Andres Rivas (born October 10, 1997) is a Venezuelan professional baseball infielder for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2024.
Career
Rivas signed an international contract back in 2014 with the Los Angeles Angels and played in their organization until 2020, and later signed a minor league deal with the Cincinnati Reds in 2021 before becoming a free agent in 2022. In 2023 he signed a minor league deal with the Seattle Mariners and later assigned to the Tacoma Rainers.[1]
Rivas was promoted to the major leagues for the first time on April 25, 2024.[2] He made his Major League debut on April 28, 2024 against the Arizona Diamondbacks and his first hit was a triple.[3]
