Ala Macula

Equatorial dark region on Pluto

Ala Macula is the smallest of the "Brass Knuckles", a series of equatorial dark regions on Pluto. It is named after Ala [àlà] "earth", the chthonic and most important deity of the Igbo people.[1][2]

Cthulhu and the "Knuckles". Ala is the small region just east of center, southeast of the eastern lobe of the bright Tombaugh Regio.
